Welcome to TCMS, Cambridge’s largest and busiest college music society. We put on two or three events most weeks during term. Anyone, whether a Trinity member or not, is welcome at our concerts.

Each term we run an extensive programme of musical events, featuring performers from Trinity, Cambridge University and further afield. The biggest events are held in Trinity’s Chapel, which with a capacity of nearly 500 is one of the most sought-after concert venues in Eastern England. In the past year we have hosted piano recitalists from the USA and Baroque ensembles from Europe, as well as local names such as the Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra and the Cambridge University Pops Orchestra, whose last concert sold out in under an hour!

Chapel is also the venue for TCMS’s two flagship ensembles, Trinity College Chamber Orchestra and the Trinity Singers. TCCO is one of Cambridge’s most highly-regarded student orchestras, and recent performances include Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. The Trinity Singers are Trinity’s non-audition choir, who each term bring a major choral work to Trinity. Recent performances include the Requiems of Mozart and Brahms, as well as a Christmas Celebration of John Rutter attended by the composer. Both TCCO and the Trinity Singers are conducted by students at Trinity.

TCMS also runs a weekly programme of recitals in the beautiful Old Combination Room, which offer soloists and chamber groups a chance to perform in a relaxed and atmospheric setting. This year we have also run an Early Music Series, a series of Bach Cantatas, a Come and Play Day for local schoolchildren and a late-night summer concert series which included a concert of new music by student composers.

If jazz is more your thing, we also host two or three jazz nights each term in the Bar, including one of Cambridge’s only open jam sessions. The nights are always popular, perhaps because of the drinks deals for TCMS members!
